Yep....I'm at 485 deadlift and the weakest link is the grip. I work on grip strength too...plate pinches, dumbell holds, farmers walk etc. etc.

Basically walk with weight, but this dude had a smart idea to add in thickness, which makes it harder. When you walk, the up and down movement makes it harder.

Nothing would be more annoying to me than having my ipod clipped to my hat like that.

I can't stand the headphone cords dangling around. I've had them pulled out of my ears too many times.

Never got the point of wearing hats to the gym. Now, skullcaps I could see, if you are trying to control sweat. But baseball caps?

In Jiu Jitsu we throw a Gi over a bar and use the lapels to do pullups. Works your grips like a monster!!

Man, I haven't done that in YEARS - I have an old gi with grip marks worn in from that.

You're a badass James, you should've taken the time to meet me when I was up there. Fucker.

Hey, I told you that you rode within 5-6 miles of my house when you and Matt went to that restaurant on Rt. 5 and that you should have called me.

Unfortunately, things have changed in a lot of the Dojos around here - the model is not as hardcore because they need to keep people on the floor. Gotta do what you gotta do to keep the lights on, I guess. I may go back to the pull-ups using a gi. I need to break in a new heavyweight instructor's gi and that usually softens 'em up nicely. That and throwing it over a heavy bag and kicking the fuck out of it.
