Eventually you're going to run into a certain person, or social situation, or job opportunity where you won't want them to know that you frequently download interracial anal pr0n, or that you buy & sell Nazi memorabilia on Ebay, or whatever it is that you do. |

It's all about how useful the info is... Anyone who cares enough about that info can get it easily enough from other sources already... I know I'm never going to be trying to get double secret security clearance, so who the fuck cares. It's not like they are going to gather this information and tattoo it to your forehead. |

Companies are starting to assume we don't care about privacy, or at least won't protest.....So they create default settings with no privacy protections, and you have to read 100 pages of fine print to even know they did that. Last edited by Homeslice; 08-03-2010 at 05:13 PM.. |

I, but for a few professional instances, where required (and then only in my "stage name"), am kinda scarce on the Internet.
Curiously, all of my most intellectual friends of the past are too. It's made catching up with them more difficult, over the past few years, but it's pretty consistent. The ones I remember as being the smart ones ARE actually keeping their info off the radar...I'm sure it's not a coincidence.

I don't have any sensitive conversations on my personal phone or personal email address. My work email and work phone is very restrictive. Neither goes on my personal phone. If you want that level of security, droid and iphone aren't the way to go period. Just ask the UAE, if you want it private, go with a corporate controlled blackberry.

I meant personal/sensitive to you, not to your employer.
