I mean, basically he's just gonna get kicked in the head and get knocked out.

AUBURN, Ala. -- Knighted by some and demonized by others, Kyle Maynard completed his almost two-year-long journey into the cage on Saturday at the Auburn Covered Arena. He left it unscathed, save for the defeat on his amateur mixed martial arts record. The 23-year-old congenital amputee dropped a three-round decision to Bryan Fry in the main event of an Auburn Fight Night show and received five standing ovations for his efforts. Fears centered on the possibility of his being injured lingered overhead, but Maynard proved capable of defending himself. All three judges scored it 30-27 in Fry’s favor. apperantly there's vid of the fight, youtube is blocked at my work YouTube - Kyle Maynard, Amputee, Round 1 of First Mixed Martial Arts Fight, Auburn, AL Ultimate Fighting

So since he doesn't technically have knees, can you kick him on the ground? Is it legal to kick him at all?

I've heard about one legged men in ass kicking contests, but I never thought someone would be dumb enough to try it.

That was by far the lamest thing I've seen in a long time. What exactly was the guy gonna do if he got to his opponent? Man, it was almost creepy! It reminded me of those Hellraiser movies or something.

I'm guessing this whole thing was to prove a point. Seeing as how it would damn near by impossible to for the amputee to win. There's only 2 ways I can see that he would...
1. He somehow manages to trip up his opponent and while the opponent is dazed or looking away, he'll have to punch or nub? him right in the face and immediately knock him out. He has no physical way of weighing the opponent down to punch him NOR does he have the appendages to submit him. 2. His opponent slips on a puddle of sweat or blood, falls and knocks himself out. And I don't even know if that constitutes as a win for the disabled. |
