Well here is today's update.
They allowed me to do a buy back for 950.00 and still gave me 5700.00 dollars. Considering I paid 4,000.00 for the bike, I am quite pleased. Picked up the check this afternoon and I will go pick up the bike from Winder, GA tomorrow. This pushes my departure back by a day but oh well. My friend offered to look after the bike and once I pick it up tomorrow I am going to drop it off at his house and leave it with my stands, cover, and other accessories. Not having to drag it to Alaska saves me a ton of stress and I will leave the shiny new bike carrier with my friend in case he ever needs to move the bike. Not having the bike in Alaska will sort of suck but not having to store it for 8 months of the year will be nice too. I will probably be responsible and use this money to pay my truck off. This also means that I now have me a track bike when I back from Alaska. |

Glad it worked out ok for you. Any idea how much the parts to fix it will cost?

man,you got over good buddy. It's hard to tell but if you just need the subframe and rear plastic, you could have it new for under $1000 no problem.

My suggestion, but like a 04 FZ1 or something like that that is a great street bike, save some extra to fix the old bike. Truck is on payments, you'll be ok.

Nice man! You payed $4000 for the bike, is that before thecost to restore it? Even with that, your still making out in the end. It'll suck not having it with you, how long will you be there? Dont use it as a track bike, just fix it and get it inspected as a rebuildable, and pocket the 5 g's....... Still coming thru ohio????

At first i was going to suggest you buy it back w/ the salvage title... but you did that. Good deal you got there Alex Either way, track bike or back on the street you're set!
