Excellent review, very detailed.

Here are the things I always look for in a suit:

- is there neoprene on the cuffs AND collar?
- how much stretch material does it have? (cheap suits don't provide a full stretch crotch)
- is there hip armor? (cheap suits don't provide it)
- are the knees snug enough to keep the pucks from moving & grabbing?
- how snug are the shins and forearms? (cheap suits are baggy here)
- how many different leather panels are stitched together? (less = better)
- does the leather feel like cardboard, or is it supple?

As for Pakistan, can't say I've been impressed with stuff I've seen from there (AGVSport, Texport), but that was a few years ago so things might have changed.

I was skeptical at first too.

The leather on this suit is supple, much more so than the last Teknic suit I had, and just as supple as the last Alpinestar suit.

I do think the arms and upper legs could be more snug, esp now that the legs have started to break in, but I think this is a symptom of my poor measuring skills.

And of course you saw the picture of the removable collar. I have never had a suit or jacket with neoprene cuffs.

I thought that turn one in the pic looked familiar! I wish you'd let me know you were up at Jennings, I live about 20 mins away. Maybe after I'm healed up we can meet up at a track day sometime.

Neoprene cuffs are awesome, because they make your wrist comfy. Some suits have stiff leather straps/snaps around the wrist, that are irritating.

I had an older Teknic Speedstar with them. And I've seen some Spidis with them. Don't know why more companies don't do it. It's just wetsuit material, it's not like it's expensive fabric.

Darn it! I didn't know you were so close! We went on a Monday last time. I think we will be doing more Mondays now, almost no one is there which is awesome. There were 5 people in Novice including me and two of my friends. lol

We are shooting for Got Track's weekend the end of October next, think you can make that one?

We might squeeze in a Monday before that though. I'll let you know if we do.

Nice, I will keep that in mind next time.

(Yeah, knowing me there will probably be a next time!)

Heck yeah, let me know exact dates and I'll see what I can do!

It's Oct 29 & 30 (Sat & Sun). I am considering doing both days, but not sure yet. I don't have a link to sign up or anything, not sure if they are working that far ahead.

Update!

I sent the suit back to have the following alterations:

1. The legs ends had the hems removed, and the length adjusted (made shorter). Taking the hem out reduced the thickness a lot and now I can get my boots on and zipped up much more easily.

2. The pockets holding the elbow armor were fixed using better material (and going forward all their suits now have it).

The turn around time on the alterations was very good. I was pleasantly surprised to get an email saying my suit was on it's way home last Friday, and even more surprised to find it waiting for me when I got home today.

Thanks to Jimmy at Velocity Sports Gear for the great customer service! I really appreciate it!
