There is a huge difference in a hunting dog or a cow raised for slaughter and a mistreated animal. Just because it's kept outside and serves a purpose doesn't mean it's mistreated. You don't have to let it sleep on your couch and go to the park with you. However you also don't have to starve it 1/2 to death and have open sores all over its body. If you don't want your dog put a bullet in it's head and be done with it. You don't have to abuse it...I grew up with farms. I understand 'Pet or not a Pet' mentality but you don't abuse either one.
