The servers can use the client's IP address to identify the general location of the user and block the user, etc. I'm not saying this is exactly what they do, just throwing out a likely possibility.

Pandora is pretty awesome for a few hours, but if you listen to one station for too long it gets kooky.

We were listening to the Bloodhound Gang station and after a few hours, it started playing Tom Petty and U2.
