My knee-jerk reaction is that the case is bullshit, but after re-reading it I see that they were only suspended from sports, not from classes. That involves a different set of legal standards since it's voluntary. While I'm on the ACLU's side in principle, I think they're pissing into the wind on this one.

look at athletic codes. it clearly states that things you do outside of school if immoral/unethical/or illegal will keep you from playing.
i think it is crap but it's there in most schools. glad the school lost this one. they should focus on doing their job of teaching. |

There have been some athletes in this area that have been kicked off of teams because they had some pictures on myspace of facebook that showed them drinking. |

Pics god damnit!!!
Times like this I wish I had Myspace and such during highschool (or was into it and was as big as it is now) because it has to be so easy to get teenage ass with the interwebz. But then stories like this make me happy I didn't have youtube and shit to post my retarded shit.

Maybe it's just me, but when in time did posting things on MySpace/Facebook are now used against a person? Does NOTHING go unpunished?
I guess we no longer even have freedom on the internet, or rather what "freedom" we thought we had. Society just gets weaker everyday. |

If you don't want to be "punished", then don't make a public admission of guilt.
