No kidding...I tell them what I spent on my helmet, I get the response "I paid less than that for my entire bike at wal-mart"

Not to mention shoes, pedals...

Schweet bike! Which model is it?

I'm still pondering ponying up for a custom fit bike, after years of riding bikes that almost fit, but not quite...

Nice bike. I have a Trek myself. Not that nice but it works great for my triathlons.

Here in Georgia I get annoyed everytime I try to explain how much I paid for my mountain bike ($800) or road bike (Used $400 but worth around $900). (insert redneck voice): For $900 it better have a motor, go Dawgs.

that's me. I love my $69.95 Fleet Farm special.
There were guys at my last job spending upwards of $3000 on a bike, and they didn't do any competitive riding. Just for fun!

thanks for the comments.

the bike is a 2010 Trek 1.2

It's not that fancy really. I wanted to tip toe in the pool before I jump all the way in. It is much nicer then my big box store hybrid that I have been riding. this weekend it goes for it's first organized ride. hoping to get into some timed races next season.

she has made my nightly rides much nicer that's for sure.

You could "shave" about 0.0000000000000198 seconds off your time if you shave them. It reduces weight and drag.
