Which is why I asked if you've seen the profile of a GP tire. The side profile is practically vertical, which leaves plenty of contact surface for traction. On the front, deep, deep trail-braking will make the front wash out at those angles because the tire's direction changes a bit while trail-braking and leaning. Most guys with no chicken strips on the front means they trail-brake fairly deep.

Yea but even w/ a vertical profile the contact patch is still practically pushing paralell to the track, rather than perpendicular like it would be at 0*. The technology that goes into those things is insane. What size tire do they actually use?

Im just speculating, as far as the measurements go its in milimeters right? like my rear is 180 wide and 55 tall? and 17 would be, uh... inches? Cm?
