get fitted for insoles and if you dont need steeltoes, look at any specialized comfort shoe

what do you do to have to stand in one spot that long?

I ship prescriptions to veterans. Stand in front of a table with a conveyor full of totes to my left. Scan the scripts, bag the items, grab the next one. 2300 a day.

But it pays well!

Ive heard a lot of good things about Nikes new Air Max 360 series of shoes, but I think they start at $160 a pair. I really like nike shox but Im currently using a pair of new balances (first pair Ive ever owned from NB) and theyre pretty good so far. Ill probably go back to shox though, I used to wear them for literally hundreds of miles of running every track and cross country season and loved them.

Go to a proper shoe store fitting place

Orthodics are a great idea. I also wear Dansko's to work. They have different styles

Also, go to Walmart and buy some support socks (ones that go up to your knees). They're in the sock section up here (like 5 bucks). They will help with proper circulation to your feet/legs. They will help with the fatigue.

Also.. I don't stand in one place at work but move on my feet for 12 hours. I've never found any running shoe to be worthwhile. They wear out quickly and you "should" replace them like every 6 months or something like that. So just save the coin you'd be spending on some running shoes and get fitted for a proper pair of shoes designed for your job

I wouldn't necessarily go with any particular brand, but I would get a shoe that is custom fit - go to a real shoe shop (if you can find one... seems rare these days) and then get some inserts that are custom fit to you as well (not the kind you can get at Wal-Mart).

New Balance are the most comfortable shoes for me. Try wearing wing tips all day. I don't stand all day but even sitting down they are not comfortable.

Try a pair of Simpson Racing crew shoes. They weigh nothing and have soft soles. Barring that, go for a pair of Dr. Scholl's Tri-Comfort cushioned insoles.
