I'll go check it out. I was told one of the "exodus leaders" is married or something to this forums owner and that one of the other people who was encouraging everyone to move along has a business interest connected to this forum. which made this whole VS is evil and bad thing seem really shady, and wrong. Like the people I liked and enjoyed talking to were ruining my favorite website to promote their own.

But really it's hard to tell who is doing what, I read conflicting stuff, get confused and frustrated and then at the end of the day, a community I like and a board I used to be able to navigate easily is changing. and I hate learning a bunch of new stuff after I got all the old stuff so well figured out.

also my back hurts.

Excessa, I think that you can figure out that I have no ties to this forum or any of the people you just named, and yet I'm here. When I knew that "motorcycle.com" aka Verticalscope had taken control of Cycleforums, I knew that I would ultimately be going somewhere else because I've seen this before. I just didn't know where at the time.

I guess concentrating on doing right by Rez and ignoring who is in control while you figure things out is the best course of action for now. I won't try to sway you either way. If you go over to Verticalscope's website, you can see a list of other forums that they have taken over and make your own decision.

wait... one of the other forum's leaders is married to TRIP?

Trip just got married, his new wife is a member here but I think she posted once... and from what I gather from meeting her a couple times... doesn't think to much of the internet forum thing.

as for a buisness connection...

trip has never asked for money... even shot me down once when I offered to help him with the costs... as there wasn't much to it... shit we don't even have paid memberships...

I've always considered you a reasonable person, which is one of the reasons why I am here, and listening. A lot of the things getting filtered to me were secondhand and sounded like hysteria.

Of course everything gets amplified, but there's a grain of truth to it also. People get emotional when they perceive that something they had a hand in creating is being exploited.

Remember what you were told by the VS rep. Look at how the forum is morphing, then listen to what everyone who is leaving is saying. The truth is in that no-man's land in the middle.
