I have the D300... made the switch from Cannon to Nikon(I know backwards from what most do)... like nikon's a bit better

have had the D60 for a while .. somehow I don't think I have used it to it's full potential.

First thing is first, go switch the quality to Jpeg+raw this will help alot!

After that its time to play, find something and take 3+ shots, but you want to change the exposure from say -2, 0, then a +2 (this is all for example) then you go to your HDR progam, and combine the 3 to get the HDR image. Play with tone mapping and viola you have an HDR image.

honestly... I just shoot in Raw... fuck Jpeg... the Raw+Jpeg is nice... but 1. creates double your photos... so if your shooting 3 exposures that's 6 pics... EATS UP MEMORY FAST!

I never look at Jpeg at all anymore now that I use Lightroom. pre lightroom the Jpeg files were nice.

But does said person have a program to convert raw to jpg. Not everyone(friends, on here, image hosting sites, etc) will know what to do with a raw image. This is why I use raw+jpeg, the jpeg is quick and functional, the raw take a little bit more time to make sure the image is how you want it. I dont use light room, which is why I still use jpeg format.

Depends on what you think "better" is. I tend to think that good HDR tends to look like a regular image, but with more pop. A lot of people push their stuff to the point that it looks cartoonish, which just looks bad to me. The last two images posted in this thread, to me, look good.
