This was an old .jpg photo, hand held/put on a table that moved....

Then used light room to use exposure, processed in photomatrix and magic it comes out looking great. Thats my story and I am stickin to it

i think i am missing something here.
i figured out how to do HDR in PS CS3 , its pretty straight fwd, but so far the results were not great.
i used the same images in photomatix, and they come out cooler, with the exaggerated colors and all.
how are you guys getting the single images HDR-iffied ? are you just using light room or something to save dark and light versions of it ? then pretending like you took them all off your camera do HDR with the a bunch of copies?

yes... you have to create a darker and lighter version of the single photo in order to to HDR.

save it as tiff... import it into lightroom and adjust the levels and export it as a .jpg

or you can have photomatrix save it as a .jpg
