And, the fire map I posted is still going strong. Yesterday it was freaky, we were at the track when a flock of blackhawks went over us to go help with the fire. I'm set up to volunteer today with the red cross.

Yikes... my mom e-mailed me yesterday to tell me that Saturday night her neighborhood (in south Austin, near Slaughter/Manchaca) had a fire near the Catholic church, and they were getting embers blown onto the houses in her section (about 2-3 miles away, other side of the neighborhood). I have several friends and coworkers who live out in the Bastrop area too.. and of course y'all in Cedar Park.

I don't have a lot of room in the apartment, but we have a fold-out couch if anyone needs a place to crash..

Tye's parents were asked by the HOA to evacuate but not yet by Emergency services from the fires around Hamilton Pool / Dripping springs area. So far they are ok but that's to close for comfort. We're pretty far from the ones currently burning but so many keep popping up no where is really safe at this point. We walked around the house last night and discussed exactly what we would grab if we have to get out. It's funny what is really important to you when you look at it like that.

one folder of paperwork, 2 small boxes of pictures and stuff from my Mom and granddad, the dog, the cat and us...Everything else we can replace...

and we have room too if anyone needs help or a place to stay.

Yep, that's the fire that I was talking about. We're up on the end closer to the church. Spooky stuff.

Bastrop is still 0% contained.

That is ZERO - the land that has burned in that fire alone is the size of Connecticut. The fire North of me just started back up again. YAY.

At least the wind has died down.
