I for example... I am a neat freak to the craziest degree. I wash my cars weekly regardless of season. I take care of my shit, all of it. I'm also a car/bike guy, so they mean a little more to me. For me family vs friends holds no wait. Reason being... my brother as an example. He was high on milage on his lease, we were way way low. So we swapped. He doesn't take care of crap on his lease car back then. It was nasty inside and everything. I gave him our lease which was typical me, super clean inside & out. I had to clean out his car to even drive it. Now I figured he would at the very least keep up on my car. I was obviously taking care of his better than he did. NOPE! He trashed my car inside & out. I was pissed! We swapped back a few weeks later and I'll never let him borrow my car for more than a day, if for like something like his car in the shop. I have friends that I would let borrow my cars and others I would not. I would let my BIL borrow mine as long as he needed cause he takes care of mine better than his own cause he knows how I am. That's just proper respect. And yes there is the "big truck" aspect as well. If the person has no clue how to drive a bigger car/truck than what they have... it may not be a good idea. |

Chosen family? yes.
Genetic family? depends on the person. parents, no problem. siblings... eeeeh.... beyond that, debatable.

i borrowed one truck out once. it came back needing much work. apparently I just need to haul.... quickly became hey this could pull out that stump etc. afterall it's just a truck they're supposed to do this right?
no loaner from me. I never ask to borrow anything from anyone else though either. if I need it once I'll probably need it again someday so I just go buy it. and yes that would include a truck/trailer/camper whatever. |

Yeah, but I'd have to borrow you with the truck for your wonderful company, sis.
