Not just any satellite. A satellite with a $72M attachment to see if there are any ice particles in the wreckage.

For a mere 9-figure budget, you'll then get this pearl of wisdom from a NASA director (who needs to get out more): "We may have hit a dry hole rather than a wet hole".
