No, I took them off and had them powdercoated to match the shade of blue in the stripes.

Nice. You have any pics? That was my first bike....just got rid of it last May and bought the Buell. The Zuk was good to me.

On a group ride, we pulled up to an intersection and stopped to decide which road to take next. I was off to the right of the group of five guys. Pulled up, put it in neutral, put my right foot down, and down, and down... in a pothole/storm drain. Held the bike at some crazy angle until two other guys got the picture, hopped off, and helped get it upright.

I have a couple rather embarassing bike-related tales.
First one happened about a week or two after I bought my first bike (Buell Blast, for those of you who don't know me). The guy that sold it to me asked me to come out to their Buell/Ducati bike night at Polvos. So it's Thursday evening, I'm riding out to bike night, and it starts to drizzle. Ok, no big deal, I'll have to deal with rain sooner or later, might as well get used to it. I'm coming up on the restaurant, and as I'm slowing to make the left turn.. I made the rookie mistake of using too much rear brake, especially for slick conditions. I was nearly stopped, but even so the bike wiggled it's rear end in a bit of a fish-tail. I tried to put my foot down to stop the bike from going over, but the road was SO slick with the oil that hadn't quite washed off yet, my food slid right out from under me! Fuck. Just dropped my bike in the left lane of a busy road. I go to try to pick the damn thing up.. when none other than a farking cop pulls up behind me, lights on and all! Thankfully she was just there to block traffic and help me get the bike accross the street into the parking lot. Suffice it to say, my first impression on all the Buell guys was a memorable one. Although if you would to hear my buddy Chad tell the story, it would come out more like, "yeah, and then she skid to a stop, cops with lights ablaze, all bad ass like! And when she pulled her helmet off and we realized it was a chick, we were all like, 'WHOA!!' ".

I always wanted the seat cowl. You polish the frame yourself? Mine was done when I bought it.
It wasn't there when he first posted.
