Don't you just hate that? All of those weapons and their serial numbers gone, in the blink of an eye.

It's a valid concern. Nobody here can drive a boat properly.

All of my guns were lost as I was shoulder deep in the flood waters of Hurricane Sandy, gun case held over my head to prevent water damage.
As I was attempting to move them to a secure location a roaming pack of illegal Mexican negroes attempted to (flooded) car jack me and the Caucasian blond woman I just saved from flood waters.

I dropped the case and god swallowed the guns and shat them back out to the mighty Atlantic.

If you want proof, just remember all the folks who died from breast cancer.

And yes..we blur out license plates on the net in photos as well as embrace out anonymity online. However, the average person cannot access the DMV database to extract information about a vehicle from plate alone. (If you can, please share the database link! I remember back in the days of the phone book as a kid, my mom paid EXTRA to have bellsouth NOT list her name or number in the phone book since she was a Child Support Enforcement officer and feared her clients "baby-daddy's" would retaliate on HER for making them pay. I continued this tradition of paying extra to have my numbers unlisted.

I'm not paranoid, I'm just a private person who'd not keen on identity theft or having strangers know too much about me and my family.

How is Troy being paranoid? I'd consider it being cautious and just having the initiative to not be lazy about doing what most people know is a good practice. Identity thieves sifting through one's garbage is not unheard of. Neither is thieves driving around the day before/on garbage day to see what boxes/etc. people have on the curb to get an idea of what may be new and pricey in their home.

Those that think what Troy does to mitigate his risk of being a victim of theft is extreme and he's being paranoid, well, I wonder if you've never been a victim of theft (ID or property) yourself. When you have, I guess you have a different take on it.
