For me, the 380 is what I shot well at the time I was looking. So it is what I ended up with. But everyone is different and even I'm different now than I was last year at this time, when I was looking. I've gotten more used to shooting and am able to shoot other guns/calibers almost as accurately as my carry gun (it is only higher because I shoot it the most). Also, with the concealing part, the holster makes a HUGE difference on how well it is concealed and how comfortable it is. Being female, you also have the option of a cc purse. I didn't go this route because I HATE carrying a purse, but it is an option. |

Because it's tiny and still does some damage with the .32ACP round. You said you wanted to do solo touring, so not just weight but bulk as well is your big concern. These Beretta mouse guns are well engineered and well made.

the 9mm is a subcompact Taurus auto. she does ok with it but because it has a double action trigger (longer pull) her accuracy is much less, she is still not positive about how it works. she knows but has to think about it because she is still learning the gun. it has jam issues, (it's currently back at Taurus to get fixed) is hard to take down for her, and she doesn't enjoy cleaning it. she doesn't feel confident in the gun or her abilities with it at all yet. much longer learning curve with the suto for someone who isn't inherently "gun savvy" |

I would think most will say a .380. I say it's up to the individual on what bullet they can shoot accurate and at what barrel length. Of course when carrying you dont want a 7" barrel. LOL Also the weight of the gun and where you want to carry it (ankle, waist, chest).
I plan on carrying my Sigma 9 and I feel like its kinda too big to carry under my jacket. The gun size + holster + armor jacket + riding jacket = I know it's there a little too much. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/w...layErrorView_Y # Model: SW9VE # Caliber: 9mm # Capacity: 10 Rounds # Barrel Length: 4" / 10.2 cm # Front Sight: White Dot # Rear Sight: Fixed 2-Dot # Firing System: Striker # Grip: Polymer # External Safety: N/A # Frame: Large # Finish: Two-Tone Black # Overall Length: 7.25" / 18.4 cm # Material: Polymer Frame Stainless Steel Slide # Weight Empty: 24.3 oz / 688.9 g # Purpose: Recreational Home Protection Last edited by Rangerscott; 01-07-2011 at 11:59 PM.. |

My brain is turning. I think there was a study on people that had to use their gun in self defense only get 1 round off. Wish I knew what I was thinking off.
Shooting ranges usually have guns you can rent. There's the RUGER LCP http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oR-uRVn4irQ Last edited by Rangerscott; 01-08-2011 at 12:10 AM.. |

Most training courses will teach and ingrain the double tap, and or to continue firing until the target goes down. |
