I think it was just her way of saying "How'd you like to be the next big TSA headline?".

I fly alot. I've also forgotten about my Gerber pocket knife with it's 3.5" blade being in my pocket about a half dozen times.

Guess what? Not a single time was I stopped about it. Not even once.

Think about that. And yes, at least once was through the new scanners.
Not only that, but the conveyor belt won't detect plastic explosives or any kind of explosive chemical for that matter. I've carried pouches of protein powder that could have been cocaine or anthrax or explosives, and they never asked to look. Fucking dillrods.

At best it's a pointless exercise, that serves only to violate people's rights.

I've gone through with a Swiss Army knife (the mac daddy motherfucker) a number of times. The best was being screened to within an inch of my life, only to be given metal silverware on the plane.

Fucking clowns.

Ive had skin cancer 5 times now and I'm going for a biopsy next week to see if I can get a double hat trick, yes radiation is a concern for me.

If you think it makes us more safe, keep drinking the Kool Aid... like the others on here, I've traveled with a pocket knife and jumbo thing of hair gel in my carry on that could have been any number of nasty chemicals... not so much as a second look.

There's a video of Adam Savage from Mythbusters showing a foot long razor blade used to shape styrofoam that he made it through security with... There's also quite a few documented cases of people making it through with much scarier shit...

Body scanning is INCREDIBLY invasive... I could give a fuck if the scanned image of my (horribly disfigured) naked body gets out on the internet... but what about kids? You know there's a disgustingly huge market for kiddie shit and we've already had a number of documented instances where these imaged were leaked... Basically the TSA has just provided another way for pedos to get more kiddie porn... and a good majority of the population just LOVES it!

My theory on how this actually works... The Muslim fanatics see us all scrambling, compromising our way of life, allowing ourselves to be violated... and they love it. THAT'S the only reason there hasn't been another plane related attack as far as I'm concerned. However, at some point in time, we will piss off another group or some home grown whacko will go off the deep end, and we will see exactly how pointless all of this 'security' really is.

Furthermore, you really want to talk about a lack of security? How about the huge gatherings of people in the lines waiting to go through security? I've been in lines of at LEAST 100 people. Nobody so much as looked at me when I got to the airport and walked up to these lines... Someone could saunter in with a fucking nuclear warhead and nobody would notice... Or fuck, how about just one suicide bomber in the middle of that mess - boom, I feel more secure.

The solution is scrutinization of passengers based on profiling... Sorry, it's going to hurt some feelings, but the 90 year old white lady in a wheelchair is most likely not on a suicide mission to take out a building with a plane. The process now is completely brainless and EASY to beat... Profile and observe... use bomb sniffing dogs (the Russians have a FANTASTIC program)... No need to scan my junk or feel up my 6 year old neice...

And then someone else comes along and says you're stupid for being afraid of someone taking pictures of your junk. 99% of all males on the planet, literally billions of people, have a penis and testicals.....yours are no different than the rest, so what's the big deal?

So really, there are no valid reasons for not going through the scanner, according to that logic.

It's completely ineffective and a waste of taxpayer time and money, if you're looking for other logic...

But then someone else can say that its not, that if you're carrying a handgun the scanners are likely to catch that....thus keeping everyone safe from handguns.

Does anyone see what I'm doing here?
