I park it with the bike resting on my 12 o'clock bar. We can fit like 12 bikes in a space that way.

I use a space...I try and leave the tail closer to the edge of the spot so a car sees it and doesnt try and pull in..And I park on an angle.

No places around here will allow me to park anywhere EXCEPT in a space. I've tried parking on the sidewalk as well as other *safer* places and I've been bitched at by cops, so I park in a space. I hate parking in big busy parking lots. I'm always scared someone's going to hit the bike.
Except at work. Then I park my bike on the sidewalk next to the building where I was told I could park.

when on base (at elmendorf at least) they made it illegal for us to park in the stripped area next to the HC spots or at the end of the isle. I still did it anyways and never had an issue... though a co-worker had his R6 kicked over cause it blocked the fire hydrant!
I usually only park in an actual spot if there's another bike already there or someones riding with me. If I park in a spot with a curb... I put my bike against the curb face'n out. if no curb I sit it side ways in the spot about 1/2 in... so hopefully a cage sees it be fore running it over. |

This is essentially what I do if I can't find something more suitable. Not allowed to park on the side walk at work (or when I go to Camp Mabry). Some places I'll park in the empty space at the end of the aisle. Or at Halcyon, there's that one little corner right by the walkway where bikes can shoehorn in that's relatively protected from traffic (you just gotta eyeball the other motorcyclists and the occasional pedicab who like to get too close to your scoot while they're trying to park ).
