My first thought.... you know it's a buell, right?
Sorry about the turn of events. It sucks.

That was a little more for him, than you
Smiley, don't get too down on yourself. Sometimes, it's about looking outside of the norm to keep it fun and interesting.

I'll be back by God. I will have my cake and eat it too. I may have to scrape up a new bike to do it or mortgage the 5 yr old, but speed has always been MY game. My passion. I just need more...of everything really. Lets just call it mid life crisis and move on...

I have to agree with this. I know I was down about different styles of riding throughout the years... it wasn't till my 3rd choice in styles/bikes that I think I found the one I love. My Ultra (touring style) is amazing and it takes me to places I would otherwise not see. WIN WIN for me!

My dealer has ordered my voltage regulator. The service writer indicated it would be paid under warrantee, although he couldnt tell me when he might get the part, how long it would take to service, or when I would get my bike back.
I then looked over a XR1200, 2 V Rods, a Firebolt, and an Ultra. I was uninspired, so I went to the local Kawi, Suzi, Yammie, KTM dealer and sat on a KX250SM and duallie, a DRZ400 and duallie, a Versys, a ZX14, a Super Duke, a Z1000, a Ninja 250, and a ZX10. Still no woodie. I was intrigued by the Z1000 but it rides the fence for impracticallity. There was a leftover EX500 that brought back fond memories but not enough to buy it. Has my crash and my breakdown quenched my desire? The only thing right now that excites me is the thought of racing again. Is that cause I can't afford to achieve it or is that my real fetish?

Personally....I believe NOTHING curbs the desire to ride fast. If you buy a KLR....with knobbies....you're still gonna act a fool in the corners. Trip is PROOF of that himself on that GS Just best to take it to track days if the road spooks you too much. I've been down 4 times on the street due to gravel, or, and tires just DONE with heat cycles long before tread was gone. They all spooked me but NONE have made me any slower unfortunatly
