Here in CA it's only every 10 years........Yet we're supposed to be a communist state, according to all the teabaggers in flyover country (who it turns out have some of the most repressive & outdated laws against personal privacy & liberties).

In Michigan, if your DL is new and fresh with your ugly mug, it expires in 5yrs but at that time you can renew via mail, phone, or net for 4 years. So then after 9yrs you must go back in the Secretary of State (Michigan's version of the dmv) and get your new freshly updated picture DL.

God, you're just perfect, and we're all just doing it wrong.

Baaaaaaaaah for me, wouldja?

You sure have a hard on for AL, huh?

I live in the same state as Rice and have the same questions.

Rice, Why couldn't you do it online?

I just renewed mine in June (4 days after my b-day) online with no issues.

Baaaah.

Because it was more than 30 days expired. I thought an eye test was mandatory every 5 years too.

That sucks about the 30 days.

Luckily you didn't get pulled over on an expired license. That's how I found out mine was out of date.

florida's "dmv's" are privately run. they're freakin disasters. i remember trying to go, and getting there about 30 minutes before they opened. there was already a "line" of non-english speakers 50 people deep. many didn't understand (or maybe just didn't care?) that lines are supposed to have some sort of order.
