Dude there have been a few complaints of chains all of the sudden missing while in motion. These thiefs are getting quite sneaky these days.

That's a Sunstar rear sprocket, aren't those aftermarket? If so, the previous owner installed it.......You should count the teeth and compare it to what the owners manual says, to see if it's even the stock gearing.
