And soccer is the most watched sport, but the thing is, those billions of Tiger fans? Most of them dont give a shit about golf. They just like him. Its a very wierd situation.

Comparing sport to sport I don't think golf is at the level of soccer. Individually though Tiger is incredibly well known. I would think with as pervasive as the media has become around the world Tiger is probably better known worldwide than Pele was.

If you want to go on pure numbers, I would go with Kobe or Jordan.

Golf is the biggest sport in China.

Last year, the chinese gov. paid Tiger 9 million to show up at the chinese open on Suday. Show up and smile. Didnt even have to play golf.

you are living in imaginary land if you think golf can even come close to soccer in china. Hell, ping pong and volleyball are more popular there.

You didnt say soccer, you said basketball. We know soccer is the biggest game anywhere.

Golf is absolutely huge in china. Which is why chinese players are dominating the LPGA, and starting to show up big in the PGA. China has grown to be far bigger than rice and pingpong. Golf courses are popping up everywhere, and the country is flooded with counterfeit clubs.

And Tiger is more popular than Kobe in China.

You said exactly "Golf is the biggest sport in China." You didn't specify in the first place.

The only people who can afford to play golf and watch it in China are the businessmen. They aren't flooded with them, they are flooded with poor people.

Kobe is absolutely bigger. Yao Ming may not be as popular as Kobe.

Yes I understand a lot of about modern China, my parents lived there til the 2nd of April this year.

I thought it was a good commercial. Nike is a master of marketing, and they got people talking with it. Thats what they wanted.

It was apparently a small group of people that knew what he was doing, and coordinated it for him.

Apparently MJ and barkley taught him how to cheat and get away with it.
