What is this *redline* you are referring to?
There are those that own a motorcycle. There are those that ride, and those that *get it*. They get that there isn't anything like the feeling of an apex done right. That no matter what kind of bike you are on - when it feels right, it's SO right. It truly is sex on wheels...

The feeling I miss and don't get to feel on the street/hiway as much is the braking zone wiggles..You know when the forks are compressed, the rear is floating gently side to side under braking? That feels good.

Ride mine. You can redline any time you want in every gear.
It won't redline in 5th. Wind resistance. |

Well, we will have to swap next time out so you can see my world... A good 3-4 second roll on in top gear will get you where you need to be livin!
Last bike I rode that was held back on top by wind was a SV-650... Not that fun of a bike I thought but then again we didn't hit many curves.

Beyond that, you are just flogging her for that little bit of HP at the top. Then......the fun stops at 6700 RPM. Damn long stroke engine. |

Well, You seem to make it work pretty good for you!
It sounds like whole different way of thinking for sure. I have to keep my bike pretty high in the revs going into a corner just so it will feel right. Even with the slipper clutch I like to bring it in pretty well spinning. You cant hardly tell it is sliping on decel, but If you have rode an 01 without one then one with its a nice feature. Your bike has to brake like mad off the gas right?
