And it cracks me up how her mom would comment about her virginity......You just further proved that this wasn't a good idea. Odds are she would have "loved" ANYONE she first had sex with.

Meh, 100 years ago, those 'children' were married with kids and jobs... As a culture we've somehow put everyone under the age of 18 on a pedistol and are actively allowing that age to creep up very quickly... 30 is the new 20... or in other words, 'don't worry about having any personal responsiblity now, you'll have plenty of time later'... 20 years from now, 40 will be the new 20.

True, up until modern times, hot 16 year olds were married off pretty quickly.

Well, with a life expectancy almost half of what it is today, parents had to get on the ball and get those kids married off and producing grandbabies. Gotta replace the siblings who got eaten by the farm machinery.

I'm not sure it has anything to do with personal responsibility, but we've definitely got the luxury of letting kids be kids a little longer these days.

Cannot say I disagree... One has to wonder though, what sort of fucked up childhood girls like this have to be attracted to a guy that much older than them... at 16, 30 seems old as balls, nevertheless 50+
