My GMC PU has 258,000 on it and still has the original water pump, hoses, alt etc.. It has been a great truck. Clutch, fuel pump, starter, ign mod & coil is all I've replaced so far, other than normal wear parts.

My first car was a GM (1990 Pontiac Grand Prix, 5 speed 3.1).

I put 210,000 miles on it (plus the 10k that was on it when I got it) over the course of 3 years and only put brakes and tires on it (and changed the plugs every 50,000 just because I wanted to). I'd probably still have it it someone hadn't hit me and totaled it.

It's more GM's management that I make fun of, not necessarily their actual product (at least talking about those made 10-15 or so years ago or more)

Guy I used to work with had it with the (89?) 5spd and 2.8. He went through steering racks on that car and eventually got rid of it for a Stanza.

Despite the issues he had with it, I always thought it was a cool car.

From what I hear, I was lucky in that department (between brakes and steering with the W bodies). I never had any issues.

The combination lock glove box was cool as hell too
