Good to know. My SMX3's actually held out water for quite a while before my socks started getting wet.

They hold up ok in a drizzle and car spray, but get a nice soaking rain and you are fucked. That's why I want the Sidi On Roads, they a good all around good touring boots.

FWIW the SMX-5 can be purchased "waterproof" and the SMX-plus boots used to have a waterproof/goretex version so maybe you can find a pair on closeout.

15% off msrp or ya'll normal pricing, pm me the price; i need to go find my size in them before I can order though. May have to swing buy cycle gear or a dealer that sells sidis.

The Vortices look really close to the Vertigo Corsa. The Corsa had the external ankle brace while the regular Vertigo didn't.

I'm on my second pair of Sidis since I started riding. I use the boots until there is a hole in the foot or sole. They are absolutely the best boot and I wouldn't buy anything else.

For $35 you can get a replacement sole. Then, take them to a cobbler and have them replace the sole... I found it worth it to have a spare pair of boots available.

I may get the canyons, they look like what I was looking for more than the on roads and are cheaper. http://www.newenough.com/boots/water...cle_boots.html
