In all seriousness, how bad do you think this disaster would be if it happened in some 3rd world country? After drilling is permanently stopped in the gulf how many oil spills do you think will take place on 10k foot water? How many of them do you think will be properly taken care of when they leak?

You clearly haven't ever seen the Mexican oil-field in the gulf... it's the only place my husband has seen the ocean on fire continuously without someone trying to put the fire out.

Look at the intentional oil spill created by Iraq after the first Gulf War or the Pemex oil spill (similar to the current spill) from 1979 for comparisons.
