Hooking up a DVD player question.

Do you have the right channel tuned in on the TV? My old VCR worked off of channel 4 and on three would be in B&W.

You know what else I was thinking, it might be something stupid like the 3 or 4 switch on the back of most players. If it has one you could try messing with that as well. That tripped me up a couple of times.
