I gained 20 lbs my first month, went on a quick diet after that

I know a few folks who have done a few years over there and live completely debt free , car, house everything paid for in cash, plus a nice retirement account, but they all do the danger jobs, truck driver, private security, that kind of stuff

Finally talked to my buddy, he's actually in Iraq this time...other than being far from home, he doesnt have complaints.

Hubby may look at doing something like this himself when he retires from the AF, give us a nice little nest egg.

If the DFACS are anything like the ones in Iraq, there are planty of options other than the mainline(wednesdays were steak and lobster, horrible but they tried)...Filled out the paperwork, going to call the dude tomorrow.

The folks I know that were in the really dangerous job were clearing 250, some of the safer and less skilled jobs (assembling furniture) were doing 70k, but the average for a skilled technitian like a fireman or IT support prolly around 150

Know what's really fucked up? I spent about eight months performing outside the wire combat ops in Afghanistan. I hated that place and couldn't wait to get home.

Still, part of me wants to go back. Something in me woke up in that place, and won't go back to sleep. Sometimes that seems like the only place where shit makes sense.

I guess I'm not in a position to really give you much of an answer. Still, let me know where and for what and I'll give you what insight I can. If you don't want to put it out there, pm me.
