I'd rather ride around Utah for 15 days and wind up at the Mormon Temple and be preached at for several hours than ride to the Arctic Circle. Couple years ago, I went to a Ducati dealer for a lecture by Gary Egan, setter of Iron Butt and trans-continental records. I remember he said that you don't want to break down on one of those roads in Alaska because of all the grizzly bears.
