Why would anyone want an internet surfing device that you can't even surf the internet with?
I don't get it.

The main thing I see those things useful for is as a rich media reader. Magazine companies are developing versions of their print publications that give the online reader the full version that the newsstand readers get, plus integrated video clips and rich media advertising. This kind of thing might save the periodical industry from the free online model that's so hard to make money from.

Wait for the Android versions if you want that, they will be cheaper and by far better thought out because of this flop.

You can hardly call it a flop. It's sold more in the opening weekend than Apple expected.

Since when does portable = outside? The only portable computing devices that I know of which dont have their screen visibility degrade in sunlight are those that use e-ink. E-ink is great but its a one-trick pony. Cell phones, laptops, and other tablet computers all have problems in sunlight because they use LCDs or OLEDs.
