Oh I didn't say it was totally incapable of it.

I'd say please don't do it since if it happens enough the FCC will crack down on over-air communications for everyone.

I don't know what will happen with it, I was just responding to you saying you couldn't do much with it. As it sits it can listen to and transmit over pretty much any frequency including public safety ones. Not that he would be dumb enough to do that.

Here's the HF rig I inherrited from my dad: (he mostly used it for 10 meters)

I have the 2 metter and the 440 somewhere too.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I may set this stuff back up and see what I can receive.

This one holds a great deal of sentimental value but you can find other TS440's out there for around that (a bit more if it has the AT like this one).
