That was a GREAT derby! I have some really good pics and video, but I have to split the video up, since it's 20 minutes long...I'll post em up tomorrow evening. Jarv, it was great to meet you AND see all the support in the stands wearing those bright shirts!

Phil did a pretty good job! He didn't last toooo long but he got some good shots in while he was there. And to make it interesting, another car caught on fire. Phil's uncle who had been doing to derby's for years (Phil's dad used to do them, so they've been going for like at least 20 years) said he's never seen a car go up in flames like that at the demo. The guy inside was lucky to get out. Scary shit. But Phil was a safe distance away so for ONCE, he did not get hurt!!

Phil's step mom was sitting 2 rows ahead of me and turned around once that fire happened and said "he's not allowed to do this anymore" lol. All in all a good time. I'm proud of my hunni, but at the same time as soon as that fire happened the first thing I thought was that it could have been Phil. Soooo, I'm torn.

Either way, congrats babe!! I took some pics and video too. I'm sure Phil will get to posting them before I do.

Were you guys in the stands with the yellow shirts? I was on the other side right across from you...that guys pants actually caught fire! He was VERY lucky to make it out unscathed...the fire department did an awesome job.

I almost climbed out of my skin when he (Jarvis/Phil) backed up ON TOP of two other cars and his rear end was in the air... He did do a great job! That was an awesome run for an awesome cause.

the good new,
i got best appearance and even got a trophy for it
i had a great time and didnt get hurt like i usually do
i got 3 good hits and i wasnt the 1st one out
and i lasted just over 1 minute

the bad news
the car was so rusted the back end just caved in under the car and ripped my gas tank in two ending my night (no gas no go) i put my passenger side back tire through the floor and into my back seat

unfortunately he did get pretty badly burned on his forearms, which could have been prevented had he of warn some kind of sleeves, it was crazy to see that car to go up in flames i wasnt very farm from it either and when i saw it i decided it was time to stop trying to start my car

Looks like a good time. If I knew earleir and could have swapped a shift at work I coul dhave made the trip up there. havent seen a demiolition derby in many years.

well im looking around for cars and me and a few friends are gunna try to get a team going, also they have a 4 cylinder double figure 8 race the night before that i and very interested in trying. so if u know anyone with an old car laying around that they dont want then let me know

Wow..I heard he was fine...it COULD have been far worse though, the way the car went up. He was very lucky. What got me was all the ones I saw leaving the track in shorts! I've never been to a derby, so I was actually surprised that full gear wasn't required...
