That almost happened to me, where I am now. Someone who was already working in a university, who had university rather than college, was also in the running for my job. He missed an interview, that I aced.

More than two years + work experience + couple certificates or something - neutral to plus
College grad - plus
College grad straight to MBA program - minus
College grad couple of years experience and working toward masters - plus
PHd - Major plus

Anyone over the age of thirty, college or no college with work experience - nuetral
