I have also given iTunes cards to someone before. Of course this was someone who I knew was already using iTunes a lot.

Point is, why pay a bunch of fees to Visa/MC, when you could give some other type of card that doesn't have any fees?

I agree with you man, 100%. Besides, if you have to get someone a gift card, isnt it nicer to get them one for a place that they really want, which shows a little thought, versus stopping at the walmart or gas station and putting money on a card.

Just give money, gift cards are nothing more than saying "you weren't important enough to shop for and I am too much of a image conscious asshole to give you regular money."

I give a gift or cash. Most gift cards become a pain in the ass because you either can't use all of it [then have a weird balance that can't be remembered] or, it's to a place you don't go. I don't understand the "insult" of giving someone cash. Anyone that complains about that should be punched in the face.
