Friend next door just bought one of these about a month ago and loves it. While it's tempting, I just don't think it would cut it for my lawn; we have too much grass/weeds at the bottom that I can't use the mower to reach. I think it would take 2 battery changes.

Yeah, but could you REALLY edge with that thing?

I hate edging weedeaters, the guard for edging usually just gets in my way all the damn time. I am not anal enough to have a perfectly edged yard anyway. Just give me a standard weedeater.

My old man has one with swappable heads... one for edging, one for regular weed whackin'...

Still have your premix? Napalm the grass. Works wonders on tent caterpillars and makes a rather satisfying little mushroom cloud.

For those that have 4 strokes.. How do you edge with them? I typically hold it upside down, wouldn't it be like doing a wheelie for your weed whacker's motor? lol
A lot of them now have rotating ends, so you just turn it 90* to edge. I don't edge, so I don't care.

I had a 2 stroke ryobi, lasted 3 years working great, then started pissing gas everywhere. I bought it for $90, would cost me $60 to get the parts to fix it. So, I spent $80 on a battery one. Came with 2 batteries, takes me 3 to do my lawn. It's nice cause it starts every time, but it's not real powerful and is slow. For someone in town with 2 trees to trim around, it would be fine. On my acre lot, it's lacking.

That definitely wouldn't work for me, then.

I don't have a lot to trim, but the grass/weeds here are so damn thick I'd worry about the lack of power.... especially when edging.
