Yes dog will not be in the house, so will never have the run of it. But I know what you are saying.

have to be sure I have time for the dog before I get one. And seeing as how I want the dog to hunt, and i'll be gone next year for hunting, it will wait till I get back.

why?

the are animals that were always outside.
when they are "working" (ie hunting) they are outside

They have more room to run and exercise outside.
They can get in a lot less trouble outside.

My dog is a pet. He's not a worker. Even if he was he'd still stay inside. I just don't think dogs should be kept outside. They are part of the family...atleast to me...so he stays in with me.


Now, he's not allowed on the furniture. And he doesn't destroy things. He stays in his crate when I'm gone.

i found max under the hood of a ford model t = freebie. and with minimal training and regular reminders of dominance (roll him on his back and stare him down) he doesnt bite beg or scratch. plus he comes when called and knows the exhaust notes of both of my bikes and will charge to meet me at the back door when i turn on the street. my little buddy does not suck

see, IMO it's better for them to have room to run and play when I'm not around. Hence, the outdoor kennel with a kick ass dog house.
