$529 is the unlocked price. I know you knew that, but if you're going to keep using one of the major carriers, and don't travel overseas, why bother buying unlocked? You'll want a new phone ~2 years from now anyway, and by that time you won't be able to sell it for more than $150 or so.

I wouldn't, but the reason to buy it unlocked would be because you have the money to spare, you're locked into ATT, and you don't want a shit phone or an iPhone.

ATT's phone selection is crap next to Verizon.

The unlocked phone doesn't work with AT&T's 3G network. So basically you would be buying a 2G phone if you went with the nexus one on AT&T.

Yea well despite the commercials and the hype, most of the people with a i-Phone 3G/s are also using a 2G phone because of AT&T's shitty network. For example, AT&T has zero 3G presence in this market.

the unlocked version is more for international people and t-mobile people who dont want to be tied to a contract.
