As someone who drinks both for taste AND effect, it's not a bad drink. It maybe a bit on the girly side, but if it was non-alcoholic nobody would say that shit. Like, "your Monster/NOS/Red Bull/etc energy drink is a girl's drink!"... real men only drink $15 six packs, Jack Daniels, and tequila apparently.

For effect, it works... and it works DAMN good. It's like drinking four beers and a bigass energy drink... all in a $2 package. Great for kicking off a night of partying when you're a bit tired from the night before.

I love the purist, pretentious attitudes towards alcohol... I guess that shit follows everything though... bikes, cars, music. It's hilarious how some of the same guys who drink the alcohol others find to be cheap/crappy/low alcohol/etc, will blast someone else's choice in motorcycle for being cheap/unreliable/low performing/etc... and vice versa.

In my fridge on any given time you may find a 4 or 6 pack of some IPA you've probably never heard of... that cost me $15. You may find a $50 bottle of wine in the rack on my counter... you may also find a Four Loko, a Twisted Tea, and an 18-pack of Miller Lite... or maybe a $7 bottle of wine in the same rack...

I drink for effect as much as I do taste. Generally when I drink for both I end up broke and vomitting... therefore, I pick my poisons based on function... just like you would a tool. You don't need an $80 torque wrench to take the screws out of your computer case, so why would anyone give me shit for using a $0.50 screwdriver?
