Or is it easier to keep pulling the trigger

Both take action to load, 1 keeps on firing, 1 has to be pumped again to fire.

Troy, I fondled an STI guardian, that'll be my next gun and made in TX ta boot!
First of all, your scenario is crap.

If the alarm went off without someone already in the house, what do you have? A perimeter alarm? And, if they BUST through the door she won't have the piece of mind to load one, let alone get another round off.

You bought it because it's badass, that's ok. If you bought it for her to use in home protection, best have her fire it a few times in a controlled environment. A 12-gauge can do a number on your shoulder when you KNOW what it's going to do.

Though, I'm a fan of a shotgun as home protection when you don't have a billion rooms. From a distance, accuracy isn't really an issue. The bummer comes in when the shit goes through your head that someone is around any wall - and it's you or them - a longer weapon can be used against you easier than a handgun [barrel grabbed around a corner, etc].

yeah you can't be thinking about loading it when someone is breaking in. it either stays ready and loaded or locked up and secure. you can't have both.

with small kids in your house i would vote for locked up and secure. buy your kids a nice puppy, you'd be surprised how much even a chiuahua can do to ward off thugs.

just a note, there are no small children in my home.

anybody have opinions on sti engineering 45's? made in TX!
Don't get frustrated when you're breaking it in. My STI Off-duty was really tight and resulted in several failures until I got the first thousand through it.....now it runs smooth and troublefree.

Wow....I just picked up a 3rd XD and NONE of them have failed even once. The XDm has now had 1500 rounds thru it without the first failure

Yeah but it looks gaudy on your nightstand.

if they break into my house, w/ nobody inside, the alarm goes off..........and keeps going , and alarm co. calls the cops.......and?

oh so you're fast and quick thinking enough to rack a round, but others won't be. IC

If you're ever invaded by sheets of aluminum, those are perfect!

Facepalm.
