One button press turns on your TV and sets the correct input, turns on your receiver and the correct input, and turns on your satellite/dvd player. Even replaces the remote for your thermostat, ceiling fan, lighting...

It's intuitive enough to use it doesn't take much (any, really) time to learn how to use it.
Thank you! Think about it... You want to watch a DVD, so you pick up your TV remote and turn the TV on and put it on "Input 1". Then you pick up your receiver remote, turn it on and put it on "input 1". Then you pick up your DVD remote and turn it on and press play.

I hit "Play a DVD" and BOOM, I'm watching a movie!

What, the movie is over and you want to watch cable? Okay, so you pick up the DVD remote and turn it off. Pick up the TV remote and put it on "Input 2". Pick up the receiver remote and put it on "Video 2". Pick up the Cable remote, turn it on and watch TV.

I hit "Watch TV" and BOOM, I'm watching TV...ETC, ETC, ETC....

All it really shows is just how lazy you really are though. OMG, I can't do 3 tasks, it must be done in one.

As a guy who prides himself on being as lazy as possible, you are speaking to me right now.

No, it's laziness, because watching TV/Movies/Games is about the least efficient thing you can do.

Or I don't like the clutter of having 7 remotes on display at all times when I only need one. Slob.

Most new remotes can control more than one device. Especially if you have a high end satelite/cable box. So you can eliminate remotes that way without having to buy one. lol

Yea but they never run all of the functions you need! There is almost always one or two buttons that you wish you had.

Fuck, if it were up to you, we wouldn't have wheels! Most every invention was conceived to eliminate work to some degree. Shit, why have remotes at all? If you're trying to not be lazy, get off your fat ass and change the channel. If you're going to use a remote anyway, why not have one that does everything you need it to?

Yeah, every piece I have came with a "universal remote". Only problem is none of them are truly universal. And when people come by to house-sit or the in-laws drop by and want to do something simple like watch TV, I'd have to watch their eyes glaze over by the time I got to "use this remote to...".

And none of the remotes that came with A/V pieces control ceiling fans, lighting, and thermostats.
