I usually run my teammate's Pirelli race take-offs on my street bike when he's done with them (my own take-offs are 160's, my street bike takes a 180). A lot of street-only riders look at me like I've got three heads when they look at my tires. It always makes me chuckle

If they ask, I usually tell em the truth & say the tires have some race laps on em... but sometimes I'll play it up a bit & either just give them a head nod as if to say "yeah, that's right... I'm fast" or say I shredded em on my favorite back roads

Yea good to think about, but track tires typically ball up rubber way more than than you can get on the street, so that kind of gives it away.

Over the past two years i have had tow riders go down while i was leading the group ride. Both had really worn out front tire and this most likely played a hufe factor in the crashes.

I was sorta the same way, but a buddy of mine and i talked and we wanted to try and meet some other riders this past year. We chose another forum and went to some rides. Needless to say the first friggin ride a guy goes off in the woods and totals his bike. I hated it, the rider was ok, but i had a bad taste in how the ride was going so we busted off and did the rest of the ride on own. Third ride with the same forum and another guy goes down, by now i am having serious thought about riding with new people.

Ended up sticking with it and rode maybe 8 to 10 rides with new riders this year including a ride last week with 9 riders. Of those 9 i think i had only ridden with maybe 2 or 3 of them before and maybe only once or twice. We had a good ride.

Anyway i am Waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy of topic here and rambling.

Hurry up spring......

I messed with a few guys like that when I put my takeoffs on my futura, one guy was hip to what I did and was like what ya go tfor a track bike. Told him dont go blowin me up like that all the squids think I did that on the priller.

Gettin back to the chicken strip issue. I am trying to figure out how to change the pegs on my KTM950SM as i am drggin the crap out of them before the chicken strips are all gone. I am looking at these, but they are not made for the KTM

I have tinkered with my wifes SV650S pegs and think i can buy a setup for the SV and make them work on the Katoom with a little work.

I want to so the opposite of what was done on this thread where they lowered the pegs.
