I wave like a special olympic torch boy.
I get it from all kinds of bikes (and none from all kinds of bikes). I noticed lately less and less waves as the number of motorcycles seem to increase. And in Atlanta itself you rarely get a wave because you are surrounded by bikes and scooters anyways. I did have a guy today on a Harley full dresser pull up next to me (and I think split traffic) to say hey. It felt kind of awkward so I ignored him.

I had a harley guy wave to another harley who was about 1/8th of a mile ahead of me... then just stare at me as I went by... caught up to the guy in front of me at a light... looked at him and waved... he just stared...

I find around here there is no point even raising the hand, 9 out of 10 bikes are Hardleys. I've heard "rice burner POS" so many times in the last year that I just say it for them.

Screw that waving shit!!!
Do I know you? If I do then I'll wave to you. If I don't then why should I wave to you? Or vice versa?

Not waving is becoming more and more popular around here. Everyone used to wave. I'm over the waving...but I still do it. It's habit.

The safety vest is required for the military, yes.........But personally I think it's a good idea for anyone whose bike and gear are all black. Unless they enjoy being invisible, that is.
