I don't like giant stores. Going there is unavoidable for certain things though.

I don't hate WalMart... even the WalMart by my house that's fucking ridiculous 24/7... I just hate most of the people there... and the sheer volume of people there... jesus. Truth is, the savings cannot be beat... I'm not gonna sit here with a holier than thou, 'fuck WalMart' attitude. If their employees aren't paid enough... they can go work at McDonalds. If they put other grocery stores out of business, sorry, that's capitalism. If they want to put a fucking grocery store in the middle of a nature preserve, fuck it...

I can probably count on two hands how many times I've been inside of a mall the past 15-20 years. I'm not counting going into a department store located on an end, through it's external doors and getting what I need there and leaving. I'm talking about walking around the interior perimeter and going store to store.
Come on now. You can't beat the adventure of South Dekalb Mall. Fucking Pararescue Jumpers won't go into that place.

Walmart seems to be a very regional experience, the ones by me are nothing special and don't really leach business from anywhere else. Then again I don't live in BFE like some folks.
It is getting harder all the time. We do shop at locally owned shops any chance we get but there are other options such as Target. At least they give 5% of their income back to the community.

I think the outdoor type are worse. At least the retardation is contained in a few blocks and the traffic is kept to the immediate area. This outdoor bullshit is spread out over a mile or two.

Yep. A living wage is so over-rated.

Why is it every time something happens that makes the local news, it's usually in Dekalb?
