Right, but with Blackberry you get all your email sent there, and sync. And, the applications allow you to manage those pages (facebook et al).

Having my email sent to my phone would be nice.

My shit isn't sent to my phone...but with my work phone I can get on my Yahoo mail, Facebook, and Myspace. They are Verizon Push to Talk phones...

I fuckin love the Blackberry Messenger and the email stuff. I use the Messenger all the time, and barely use my computer to check email anymore. Hell, my computer use has dropped a hell of a lot since getting my blackberry.

There's several reasons for me. Most of the people who text me text me when they're working or I'm working and we're bored. It helps to keep me awake and entertained at night when I'm bored at work and the same for them even though they're on another shift. Since I sleep during the day and at odd hours, it's the best way to find out if I'm asleep or awake. I always answer my texts back or will call.

My kids also use texts as a way to keep in touch with me when they're at their dad's. Like Zoomie's ex, mine doesn't let them talk to me, but they can reach me via yahoo messenger since I also have that service for my phone. They use it to tell me shit while I'm at work when they're with me since I can't receive calls at work on it. It's usually bullshit stuff, but it's their alternate way of reaching me.

And like Zoomie said, it's another way of leaving a message without having to do voice mail.

I absolutely hate checking voicemail...with the dailing, the passwords, the menu bullshit. Text is much easier.

Me too. I don't even have mine set up. I won't leave voice mail for anyone either. If you don't answer and I need to tell or ask you something, I'll send a message. Fuck voice mail. If I can't leave a voice mail, everyone has caller id and the other party will see I called and can call me back. If not, oh well. No skin off my nose. I'll just catch them later.

I'm basically the same way. No voicemail unless I really have to...otherwise they'll see I called and call back later.

I text a bunch. Besides being a really good time killer, I use it to mass text everyone when we're making plans. One text with all the info sent out to everyone works out incredibly well and can be done while everyone is working without intruding.

Ditto to that.

I blame Tracy for making me the texting monster that I have become.. before I met him I rarely if ever texted. Now... I have 4000 texts just in my inbox.. and that's just since the last time I cleaned it out in July.
