No, they have regular ones now that are guaranteed for a while...

Well I'm at it again.. Phase 3

Phase 1: Siding, Trim, Gutters
Phase 2: Entertainment system, cowboy spare room, some furnishing of basement
Phase 2.5: slid in those recessed lights in the living room
Phase 3: Kitchen remodel

Near Future:
Phase 4: new carpet and living room furniture
Phase 5: new tile, vanity, and tub in main bath
Phase 6: new tile, vanity, counter, sink in master bath.

Distant Future:
Phase 7: New vynal privacy fence around back yard to replace old cedar one.

Well I took and emptied the old cabinets.






Thank god we haven't put the new furniture in this room, cause we filled it with kitchen junk. Later I put the xmas decor away and put the dining room table and chairs, as well as the microwave in there if you can believe that

Laid down a drop sheet to cover pergo for the moving of supplies and cabinets

Also, put plastic over the door ways and such to keep dust containted


Now with the base cabinets out we start to remove the old tile back splash


So yeah, the drywall had to come out too.... notice all the dust and understand why I used the plastic.


The old plumbing which will have to come out due to new sink will be in the corner so I am able to get the dishwasher in

We run some new electrical for microwave, disposal, dishwasher, and under cabinet lighting. Also replacing the old cracking electrical boxes


Then start the process of re-drywalling it


Removing and setting up some of the pvc plumbing that will come into play later

Fished some new wiring for the future buffet cabinet and counter. Want a plug on both ends of the counter top



Then in the process we hauled the old cabinets downstairs to the basement utility room. Brinks again came to help.


This wall had the shelving all the way accross it. Those stupid metal "L" shaped brackets with 3/8" plywood. Cheap, effective, but didn't look nearly this good. (Don't mind my childhood toy chest. The wife's cat, Avril, checking out the new liter box location


Another cabinet set here, that replaced a small shelf.


That was all done Friday evening, and Sat, and a few hrs on sunday. In between me working night shift too, its been a ruff weekend... especially the day after the holidays. Man o man...

After 2 attempts to get my cabinets delievered (cancelled twice for trucking company issues, and working on getting my delivery fee back due to)... I finally got them today...





They really filled up the garage fast. We then tonight worked on installing all the upper wall mounted cabinets which I'll try to post pics up tomry. So that brings you up to speed mostly...

Got some wiring ran thru the pantry


Wired up the switches, gfci's, and plugs



Thru the shelves in




The last pic above shows the plug there installed. That one... right side constant off one circuit for the microwave, the left one is on a different circuit controlled by the dimmer near the sink.

Moved the remaining cabinets into the kitchen



That was a few hours the tuesday. Then on wed, I built the custom toe kick for the wall cabinets that are going on the floor for the buffet counter. (please don't mind my bro's gay comments, he's a bastard and didn't get held enough by mom) In order to do this, I took the measurement off the pantry and duplicated it by rippin a set of 2x6's to the proper size.


Ran an elbow for the floor vent that will soon be a under cabinet vent


Then worked on the fillers

Thn we got the corner cabinet installed and got a pic of nate working on some electrical for the dishwasher and disposal.



Got the fridge fit in


Then while I was downstairs doing some pipe sweating with Sgt Natron and wife got to work on the remaining dishwasher and stove install.

Then BAM... done by 2100 Thursday for Friday morning 8am granite counter top template appt.






Some think I must not work... I do work... what I skip is sleeping. Got 1 hr of sleep last night on the couch before the granite template guy showed up.

Did a few more things today and will do some more tonight... The wife wants to help so I told her I would wait... man she is awesome!!

The template guy was GOOD. But he broke some bad news... even though the cabinet lady said the 36" corner sink base cabinet would fit the standard 30" double bowl undermount sink would fit. I had my doubts and the granit guy confirmed. NO WAY without MAJOR cabinet modification that is simply unaccepatable. So goint to order a Blanco Diamond granite composite D-shaped single bowl undermounted sink in black. Took my Franke double bowl granite composite back to lowes. List price on the Blanco is $475 but I found it online for $249... just waiting till monday to check locally (closed for holiday) to see if they can beat price and time line. Lowes was at $400 and 3 weeks out... unacceptable. So we'll see. counter top is on hold till they get the sink and I pick out the slab. However, I planned on 2-3 weeks for counter tops and they will get them done in 7-10 days. Add in 1 week for new sink purchase... and I'm still on schedule.

But this is why I have been MIA all week... it has sucked and rocked all in the same token... will hopefully catch up sat if something else doesn't pop up.
